Rambagh complains of police harassment
SEEK SSP’S INTERVENTION
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 5: The residents of Rambagh have accused the police of harassing the local youth in the garb of sudden raids.
The locals said the police frequently raids the area looking for the local youth and misbehaves with them.
They also accused the police of having broken the windowpanes of many residential houses “only because they couldn’t find the youth present at their homes.”
On Monday again, the locals said, the police raided the area.
The locals appealed the SSP City, Syed Ashiq Bukhari to look into the matter.
“In 2008 also there was turmoil but Shabir Sahib, the then SHO would never harass anybody. Infact he would visit the area for counselling of the youth,” the locals said.
They accused the concerned SHO and the SDPO of being callous towards the public pleas, a charge denied by the police force.
“They behave like dictators,” the residents alleged.
