Samiti rejected
This refers to the news “Jammu rebuffs Samiti shutdown call"(GK July 4).The shutdown call was illogical, unwarranted and anti-Kashmir because there has not been any harassment of yatris or any attack on religious places in Kashmir. There have only been killing of Kashmiris by security forces. The Samiti seems to have forgotten the fact that it’s Kashmiris who have been facilitating and taking care of yatris since the discovery of the cave. Even during 2008 agitation Kashmiris served yatris. The yatra has nothing to do with the present situation in Kashmir but the Samiti along with BJP somehow wants to communalize the issue by creating such rumors. But the way all sections of people in Jammu opposed their strike clearly indicates that ideology of Samiti is irrelevant in Jammu and has been rejected by the people. It’s high time for Samiti and BJP to understand that people of Jammu and Kashmir are one in their struggle and these divisive forces cannot promote the Hindutva agenda in Jammu.
