Centre calls Guv for consultation
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 6: In the backdrop of deteriorating situation in the Valley, the state governor NN Vohra was on Tuesday called to New Delhi to apprise the union government about the prevailing situation.
Quoting sources a local new agency, KNS said the virtual uprising in the Valley which has resulted due to killing of 15 civilians in police and CRPF firing has been a serious concern for the Central government. “The governor apprised the union government about the present situation in the Valley,” sources said.
This is for the first time in the recent past that the Centre has summoned Governor instead of the chief minister, Omar Abdullah.
“The centre is mulling a new strategy to bring situation under control in the Valley and in this backdrop the governor was called to Delhi to discuss the situation ahead of implementing the strategy and seek suggestions. The chief minister would be called for discussion on the strategy,” KNS said quoting sources.
However, sources said the chief minister was not happy with the functioning of the security agencies in the state and was waiting for next step from the centre on JK.
