Mehbooba condemns killings
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, July 6: Expressing disgust, pain and grief at the latest killings in Srinagar, Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti today said the government was only fuelling anger by shedding innocent blood of teenagers.
In a statement she said the ‘spiraling count of our dear ones adds to the long list of tragedies caused by wanton use of state force against unarmed and defenseless protesters.’
Mehbooba said the death of Fancy Jan, reportedly in her house, indicates the extent of “barbarism the government forces can go to” in absence of an accountable and sensitive administration.
“Today’s killings of Fancy Jan, Fayaz Ahmed, Muzaffar Ahmed and Abrar Ahmad add another dark and painful chapter of atrocities to the ever tragic Kashmir story,” she added. She said the killings come at a time when the wounds of similar recent atrocities at Islamabad, Srinagar and Sopur are still fresh and an effort should have been on to reverse the diabolic dance of death.
