This refers the Seema Mustafa’s article” As Kashmir burns—who cares!” I appreciate the author for understanding the present situation in the Kashmir valley which the rulers in New Delhi and Srinagar don’t. It is a fact that our youth grew up in conflict and are fed up with the system, politicians and so-called leaders, who have opened their shops and do the business on the heads of innocent lives. The author rightly says Omar Abdullah is seen as a week Chief Minister. He does not seem to have any grip on central or state police or administration. One can find numbers of advisors moving around him but they failed to guide him any proper advice in the troubles time, be it is a Shopian rape case or innocent killing of teen agers. Every time he mishandled the situation. In one of his statements, he admits that J&K police does not have professional abilities to deal with the situations. On the other hand he appreciates the role of state police. One wonders over the mindset of central leaders especially that of the Home Minister. Apparently a well-meaning man, one could not expect such an irresponsible statement from him. Instead accepting the failure of Central and State governments in addressing the problems of the people he shifted the blame to Lashker-e-Tauba which according to him is fomenting the trouble in the valley. It is now proved when it comes the Kashmir problem every leader be it a BJP, VHP RSS or Congress everybody has a same mindset.
