Pleading peacefully
This refers to the article "How to save this protest?" by Surinder Mohan (GK July 2 2010). The author has mentioned some good points but has not cleared his stand on Kashmir issue. To get justice the author advocates that Kashmiris should shun the present architecture of violence and adopt Gandhi's Satyagrah type of resistance for success. I believe that our leadership will never adopt Gandhi's formulas for the reason that Kashmir is a different issue where more than one lac people have already sacrificed their lives. In fact, Kashmiris are already pleading peacefully for the grand cause and only resort to stone pelting when they are not allowed to carry on the peaceful protests. Amarnath Yatra is a separate issue and it has nothing to do with the present protests. Kashmiri people have been never against Amarnath Yatra.
