KU Business School hosting conference on Management

Srinagar, May 31: The Business School, University of Kashmir is organizing Northern Regional Round Table Conference on the theme “Total Quality Management (TQM) in Business Education- An Emerging Paradigm” on June 2 at Gandhi Bhawan of the Kashmir University.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will be chief guest while Jaleel Ahmad Khan, Economic Advisor to J&K Government will be the guest of honour.
The function shall be presided over by Vice-Chancellor University of Kashmir, Prof. Riyaz Punjabi. Deans and Directors of Association of Management Schools (AIMS) are expected to attend the conference.
Director Business School, Prof Shabir Bhat said during the conference challenges being faced by Business Schools in India would be discussed at length. “Changing scenario of corporate world is posing new challenges and opportunities to Business Schools. As a result, Business Schools have to reorient and redesign their policies with a view to adopt and excel in the exceedingly competitive environment” he said. He added that TQM as a Business Philosophy was being adopted to bring about overall transformation in all spheres and activities of management education.
Deans and Directors of renowned Business Schools of Northern India are expected to participate.
Participants in the conference will include Prof. Shekhar Chaudhuri, Director - Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata; Prof Uday Salunkhe, Group Director - P.L.N. Welingkar Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai & Hyderabad, Dr. O.P. Gupta, Director - ICFAI Business School, Gurgaon, Dr. B V Sangvikar, Director - Department of Management Sciences, University of Pune.
