PDP leader seeks relief for crop losers
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, May 31: Expressing his concern over the loss of property and damage to standing crops by the recent rain and hailstorm, People’s Democratic Party senior leader and district president Islamabad Peer Muhammad Hussain today demanded immediate assessment of loss and adequate compensation to the sufferers.
At a meeting at Islamabad he criticized the government for its “lame approach” in reaching the areas hit by the rains. He said government had not announced any package to the sufferers to compensate their losses despite repeated appeals by them.
Hussain demanded immediate relief and compensation for Gujjars and other communities in the hilly belts where, according to him, standing crops had badly been hit. He said in those areas hundreds of grazing animals had died due to untimely snowfall and consistent rains.
He demanded immediate assessment of the loss by the authorities while imploring the government for announcing relief to the sufferers.
Hussain also urged the authorities for immediate supply of ration and restoration of power supply and other amenities to the public of his constituency.
