Construction Of Bus, Taxi Stand At Patnitop

Jammu, June 9: The Government has constituted a high level committee for construction of bus and taxi stand beside shopping complex and Rotary Club at Patnitop.
Official sources said the Patnitop Development Authority had proposed construction of the Bus/Taxi Stand, Shopping Complex and a Rotary at Main Chowk Patnitop along the Jammu-Srinagar highway but the land, under army occupation could not be vacated despite repeated request.
“The matter was taken up with the senior army officers on number of occasions, but they refused to vacate the land on which it has established a camp and a TCP post”, sources told Greater Kashmir.
They said the matter was taken up with the government and General Administrative Department had finally issued an order NO: 684 -GAD of 2010 where sanction has been granted for the constitution of a Committee for identification of suitable alternative piece of land at Patnitop for Army authorities to facilitate their shifting in order to pave way for the construction.
