ED Bank opens branch at Zainigam

Will open 11 new offices by March ’11

Srinagar, June 9: The ED Bank Wednesday opened a branch at Zainigam in central Budgam district.
 Regional Manager S A Qayoom said the branch was opened to afford banking facilities to the residents of the area and provide solutions for all financial needs/services of the people in the area under one roof and at the doorsteps of the customers.
 The Bank has been discharging its duties and commitments in rural as well as urban areas of the state operating in 13 districts, it said in a statement.  The Bank has been playing an important role in the credit system of the state with focus on the agriculture, horticulture, diary, trade, transport, tourism and other allied sectors, it said. The Bank is committed to reopen sixteen of its shifted/merged branches at their original centres by September 2010 and open eleven new branches by March 2011.
 The bank plans to migrate all its branches to core banking solutions (CBS) by the end of this fiscal. The decision to reopen the branch at Zainigam was hailed by the people of the area.
 Regional Manager, S A Qayoom, highlighted the role of Chairman A U Tak, under whose “able and dynamic leadership” the bank has been able to support the local economy of the state.
