Colleges to open early

Srinagar, June 10: The City colleges will open early following recommendations of the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Naseema Lanker, an official handout Thursday said.
It said: “On the recommendations of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and in order to stagger and streamline the traffic within Srinagar City, the Secretary to Government Higher Education J&K vide Government Order No: 258-HE of 2010 has ordered change of timings of Government Colleges, within the limits of Srinagar Municipal Corporation.”
The Colleges will function from 8.30AM to 2.30 PM.
Pertinently, for quite some time SP Traffic City, Showkat Shah had also been saying that the colleges should open early for the “effective traffic management”.
He official had said college timings clashed with the peak hour rush disrupting smooth flow of vehicles.
