Respond to PM’s invite: Soz to separatists
‘HR violations won’t be tolerated’
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 10: State Congress President Prof. Saif-ud-din Soz has asked the separatist leadership to take part in the dialogue process if they were the well-wishers of people. He said human rights violations won’t be tolerated by the government.
Addressing a gathering at Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, Soz said it was imperative upon the separatist leadership to respond to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s invitation for dialogue.
“They should respond positively to PM’s invitation and take part in talks if they are the well-wishers of people,” he said. “The doors at Centre are open for talks and separatists need to understand it and take advantage of the situation.”
He said violence, strikes and protests were no means to resolve the issue. “Issue can only be resolved through dialogue,” he said.
He said the welcoming of Manmohan Singh’s invitation for talks by Pakistan Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani was a positive development. Pakistan, he said, has realized the significance of talks.
In an apparent reference to the killings of three youth in a staged gun-battle at Machil, Soz said the government won’t tolerate human rights abuses by anyone.
He reiterated that the coalition government was committed for working for the people of all the three regions of the state. The government, he said, won’t tolerate corruption and the government employees found involved in bribery won’t be spared.
