‘Grievance cell formed’

Srinagar, June 11: Taking note of a news item carried by this paper, Director Handicrafts J&K Merajuddin Kenu issued orders for the formation of a grievance cell to address the problems of the handicraft dealers.
“The grievance cell will work under the guidance of the Director Handicrafts,” the department in a statement said.
It said the director also issued orders for formation of special inspection teams to conduct surprise checks and take action against erring handicraft traders.
To mention Greater Kashmir had carried a news item reporting that the Pashmina Manufactures’ Union and Kashmir Shawl Makers’ Union had alleged that some handicraft exporters were cheating their customers abroad by exporting machine-made and fake handicraft items instead of genuine items.
