‘Inter-state Air Safari services for tourists soon’

Srinagar, June 11: The Government plans to operate Inter State Air Safari service to various tourist destinations of the State.
In the first instance these service would be operated for visiting pilgrim sites of Shiv-Khori and Mata Vashno Devi, Katra in Jammu and over viewing natural beauty of Srinagar and Phalgam in Kashmir.
This decision, according to an official statement, was taken at a high level meeting held here today under the Chairmanship of Minister for Tourism and Culture, Nawin Ragin Jora.
Threadbare discussion was held in the meeting to frame the modalities for operating the proposal Air Safari service in the State. It was decided that bids would be issued for contract with Helitaxi operators for two years in the first instance.
Later, the meeting also reviewed the pace of progress on development of tourist villages in the State.
The Tourism Minister underscored the need for timely completion of all works being carried out for the development of tourist villages both in Kashmir and Jammu provinces.
The Minister directed concerned authorities to ensure use of quality material in the execution of works for raising a sound tourism infrastructure.
