Former SRTC employees allege misappropriation of CP Fund

Jammu, June 11: All Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation Voluntarily Retired Employees Association Friday accused the Corporation of misappropriating CP Fund amount since 1999.
 Addressing a press conference, here today, President of the Association, Dev Raj Bali claimed SRTC management had deducted the amount from their salaries, but it had not been deposited into their respective accounts.
 After protests the SRTC management has now deposited 50 per cent of the total amount, he said while demanding remittance of pending 50 per cent amount along with interest at 12 per cent per annum.
 Further accusing the SRTC management of giving contradictory statements, he said, “It was agreed by the management to give VRS to 1,200 employees on the pretext of surplus staffing but only 672 employees including 250 drivers have been given VRS benefits so far”.
  “SRTC management has issued notification for appointment of new drivers, while at the same time neither criteria has been fixed while implementing VRS nor the surplus employees have not been identified”.
 Association further demanded release of 60 slabs of COLA for the year 2006, 2007 and 2008, arrears of COLA from 1999 including compound interest and implementation of 6th Pay Commission.
