Islamabad protest against moral waywardness
GK NEWS NETWORK
Islamabad, June 11: Massive protests erupted here against the growing moral waywardness and the alleged role of the state agencies in its promotion.
People in large numbers gathered outside the Jamia Masjid after Friday prayers and amid anti-police and anti-government slogans marched towards Lal Chowk where Mirwaiz South Kashmir, Qazi Yasir addressed them.
“A conspiracy is being hatched against us to rope in youth into drug addiction and moral waywardness,” Yasir said adding the move was aimed to divert them from resistance movement.
Appealing youth to follow the teachings of Quran and Sunnah, he said, “Instead of imitating west we should abide by our religious teachings, which is the only way to curb social evils”.
Yasir, who he heading the Islamabad Welfare Committee formed in the wake of recent sex racket has called for protests by female students on Saturday and the same by the male students on Monday against the law enforcement agencies for allegedly patronizing the criminals. He said a meeting of the Committee would be called on Sunday to chalk out the future strategy and demanded action against the Territorial Army men for their alleged interference in the racket.
