Govt killing teenagers to create fear psychosis: Mehbooba

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, June 12: Expressing deep grief at the loss of another teenage life, Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti has said the use of force, to create fear psychosis, has become the preferred tool of governance for the state government. “Tragedies like the shocking killing of teenager Tufail Ahmad Matoo have become a norm ever since the present government entered the office,” she said.
In a statement, Mehbooba said even though by his own admission Omar Abdullah “had inherited the state in a much better position than any of his predecessors,” he is pushing the entire population from one crisis to another.  “Every time semblance of calm appears on the surface, the government forces suddenly inflict atrocities on individuals and families and throw the society into chaos,” she said.
Mehbooba said most of the violence in the past one and half years has been triggered by government’s acts of omission and commission. She said this government has become the main agent of instability in the state as it views normalcy with suspicion. “NC has always been cashing on the troubles of the people and it has developed a deep seated vested interest in keeping the Kashmir pot boiling,” she said.
