Chouhan hints Railway link for Poonch

Poonch, June 14: The Union Minister of State for Kashmir Affairs, Prithivi Raj Chouhan today said that the centre was exploring the  possibility to link border district Poonch with Jammu through Railways.
 “Railways is the best means to accelerate development. Connecting far-flung areas through railways, including border areas could go a long way in setting in the pace of socioeconomic development,” Chouhan said while addressing a public meeting, here.
 Chouhan also referred to the proposed road for linking Poonch with world famous Gulmarg resort in the Valley. He said the work on the historical Mughal road was in full swing and feasibility for connecting Loren area of border district Poonch with Gulmarg was also being studied.
