Fallah-e-Darain holds Seerat conference
‘ISLAM IS CATALYST OF PEACE’
ALTAF BABA
Varmul, June 14: Prominent Islamic scholar, Dr Ubaidullah Fahad, on Monday said despite propaganda unleashed by some western countries, Islam was serving as a catalyst for peace.
Dr Fahad who is a speaker of the Peace TV was addressing a seerat conference held by Idhara Fallah-e-Darain, Varmul to commemorate its tenth anniversary.
Dr Fahad said Prophet Muhammad (SAW) treated all the humans with compassion and kindness irrespective of their religion or creed.
“After the conquest of Mecca, even the enemies of Islam were treated with kindness by the Prophet (SAW) and that tradition can be found in all generations of Muslims. In every chapter of Muslim history from Salahdin Ayyudi to Taliban, there are examples where the hints of that kindness can be found” he said.
About the West’s ‘concept of peace’, Dr Fahad lamented that America which claims to be the upholder of human rights and a champion of peace was setting the example of worst kind of terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Other scholars who spoke on the occasion included Dr Bashir Ahmad Nahvi, Director Iqbal Institute, University of Kashmir, Maulana Shakeel Shafaie and Maulana Showkat Shaheen, Khateeb Masjid Iqra, Srinagar.
Earlier the Idara Falla-u-Darain announced the launch of a website and inaugurated a digital library which contains speeches by prominent Islamic scholars.
An interaction program with the members of different communities was also organised at Girl’s Higher Secondary’s School. The program was attended by people from all walks of life including a large number of non-muslims.
