Govt pursues anti-people policies: Jama’at

GK NEWS NETWORK

Srinagar, June 14: Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir on Monday accused the NC -Congress coalition government of pursuing anti-people policies and committing atrocities on the innocent Kashmiris to suppress their demand for right of self determination.
“The state coalition government has given a freehand to its armed forces to suppress the peoples’ demand for their right of self-determination promised to them by the then Indian rulers through UNO in 1947 and 1948,” said the Jama’at spokesman advocate Zahid Ali in a statement today, adding that “the people of Kashmir have never compromised their honour nor will they do so in the future despite their victimization by the armed forces including local police. They are determined to carry forward the struggle for their self determination to its logical.
Jamaat-e-Islami has warned India against carrying out ‘Zionist type of genocide of youth’ in Kashmir and asked  it to fulfil the Kashmiris’ genuine demand by giving them their birth right of self determination without which no peace is possible in the region.
Jama’at strongly condemned the arrest of Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Geelani and demanded his  and other political prisoner’s immediate release.
“Jamaat strongly condemns the police atrocities and use of unwarranted force on the peacefully agitating Kashmiri students of BGSB University Rajouri. The parents and relatives of these students are deeply concerned about their well being. Jamaat demands strict action against the erring police officials,” said the spokesman.
