Family Protests Against CRPF, Police

Srinagar, June 14: The family members and relatives of Muhammad Rafiq Bangroo, 24, who was ruthlessly beaten by Central Reserve Police Force men at Safa Kadal on Saturday, staged a protest demonstration at press enclave here. Policemen immediately swung into action and detained several of them.
According to the family, Bangroo was beaten by CRPF men not far away from his residence without any provocation.
 “We fail to understand what wrong he had done. The CRPF men beat him up and trampled him by their jackboots without any reason while policemen watched as mute spectators,” said Ghulam Nabi, his relative.
 Bangroo was first shifted to SMHS where doctors referred him to SKIMS. He was operated upon on Sunday and doctors term his condition as critical.
 He has gone into coma and is battling for life in Intensive Care Unit.
 According to doctors, he is not showing any improvement. They said he had sustained severe head injuries and had multiple contusions in his brain.
