Auditorium, Food Court to come up at Kashmir Haat

Srinagar, June 15: Minister for Industries and Commerce S. S. Slathia along with the Commissioner Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Umang Narula today visited the Kashmir Haat to discuss on the spot proposal for conversion of godown into auditorium at Exhibition Ground Srinagar.
Director Handicrafts Mehraj-ud-Din Kenu after welcoming the Minister briefed about various features of the proposed auditorium.
“The Auditorium will be a living cultural centre inside the Kashmir Haat that will come up in place of the existing godown structure on about 6000 sq ft area. The estimated cost for the project would be above Rs 2.37 crore.
The Minister said the main concept to have an auditorium is to provide an additional facility in the Kashmir Haat which is an important handicrafts Park in the Srinagar.
The objectives of constructing the proposed auditorium is organising Cultural shows, conducting of Seminars and Workshops, State Level Conferences and holding of buyer and seller meets.
The auditorium will also have the facility of a multipurpose studio that can also be used as an exhibition, gallery space. It will be also used as a modern theatre and creative work shop area.
The Minister also desired to have a standard food court within the premises of Kashmir Haat.
