Devki Arya Putri Pathshalla holds centenary celebrations

SRINAGAR, JUNE 15: Devki Arya Putri Pathshalla, one of the oldest schools in the City on Tuesday held its centenary celebrations at the Hazuri Bagh campus. Minister for School Education, Peerzada Muhamamd Syed was the chief guest on the occasion.
 The Minister said the education in private sector was being encouraged by the government by providing all possible facilities so that students community particularly girl child education.
 Lauding the role of management of Devki Arya Putri Pathshalla in providing quality education, the Minister said the school had achieved several milestones during the last 100 years in the field of education.
 “He said the female education as well as free education to poor and downtrodden girl students has also been popularized by the institution among the masses of the state,” an official handout added.
 The Director Education, Kashmir, Shagufta parveen was also present on the occasion.
 On the occasion, the students of the institution were awarded with trophies and mementos besides cash prizes for their meritorious performance.
