JKTA hails CM
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 15: The J&K Tourism Alliance, a guild of various tourism trade bodies, has welcomed the announcement by chief minister Omer Abdullah on making Ladakh a round-the-year tourism destination.
It has hailed the government decision to construct a tunnel at Zojila pass to make it possible for tourists to visit this wonderful region of J&K for most part of the year. In a statement here today the JKTA said the tunnel would economize the travel to Ladakh both in terms of expenditure and time.
“The economic conditions of the people connected with tourism in Ladakh, Kargil and en route would improve,” it said.
The JKTA has hoped the project would be completed on priority. Meanwhile, the alliance has urged the chief minister to increase the frequency of Srinagar–Leh.
