Kupwara, June 16: An amount of Rs. 2.48 crore has been spent under MG NREGA scheme during current financial year upto May 2010 while under Indira Awas Yojana another Rs. 9.19 crore have been spent on construction of 47 low cost houses and five structures were upgraded during the same period.
This, according to an official statement, was stated at a meeting of Rural Development department today in Kupwara.
It was given out that an amount of Rs. 10. 86 crore were spent during last fiscal, 62060 job cards were issued for providing 100 days rural works in the district, 2665 rural works were taken in hand, of which 1293 were completed and work on remaining is going in full swing.
It was further informed that under IAY, Rs. 9.92 crore have been earmarked for construction of low cost houses and upgradation of structures, of which Rs. 7.86 crore were spent on construction of 1305 low cost houses and 123 upgradation of structure during last fiscal in the district.
