Jammu, June 16: At least three para-medicos were suspended for being on unauthorized absent from duty, while a record technician was arrested for allegedly resorting to corrupt practices at Government Medical College here.
The directions were issued by the Minister for Medical Education, RS Chib, who paid a surprise visit to Government Medical College, Jammu to take stock of healthcare facilities being available for the patients, here on Wednesday.
As per an official spokesman, the minister found at least three paramedical staff absent from duty and directed for their immediate suspension.
The suspended employees were Champa Dogra, Assistant Matron, Santosh Sharma, Assistant matron and Raj Kumari, Supervisor.
He also directed the Superintendent to issue written warning to Phoola Raina, Operating Matron, for making false statement in order to help the absentees.
During the inspection the minister found some irregularities in the Record Section. “The minister directed for registration of FIR and arrest of Record Technician, Narotam Sharma, who was found indulging in corruptive practices”, the spokesman said adding, the erring official was arrested from the spot.
Cautioning all concerned rendering services to the ailing people against any irregularity or irresponsibility, the minister said that the Government would not leave any negligent officer or official unpunished if found involved in any malpractice.
