Revive prominent citizens' committees: Rana to admin

Jammu, June 16: The political advisor to Chief Minister, Devinder Rana has stressed upon the need for reviving prominent citizens committees and holding periodical meetings by the divisional commissioner, Jammu and deputy commissioner, Jammu to get feedback on the developmental initiatives launched by the government.
Speaking at the meeting organised here at Summer Secretariat Jammu to review the developmental scenario in Jammu division, Rana exhorted upon the officers to conduct field tours to monitor the functioning of their field functionaries and implementation of schemes under flagship programme.
Minister for Industries and Commerce, S S Slathia called upon the officers to accord utmost priority to the people’s aspirations and strive to mitigate their sufferings by extending the benefits of various developmental initiatives of the present government.
After appraisal of the condition of stranded Gujjar and Bakerwal in far flung areas of Kishtwar due to heavy snow fall, he directed the administration to provide free ration to those stranded peoples immediately with free medical facilities. He was also informed that veterinary and sheep husbandry staffs have also been deputed.
He said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is keen to extend all facilities to the Amarnath Yatris so as to ensure their comfortable stay in the state.
Advisor to Chief Minister, Mubarak Gul said that mitigation of peoples problems is the sole agenda of the present government and asked the officers to provide adequate power, drinking water during this peak summer season in Jammu Division
