3 killed, 27 injured in JK road mishaps

Jammu/Srinagar, June 17: Three persons were killed and 27 others were wounded in road accidents across the Jammu and Kashmir.
A man was killed and 12 others injured when a Matador No. (JK02B-1427) skidded off the road and turned turtle at Dhoke Khalsa Jourian on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar of Chaperyal presently residing at Ram Nagar Colony Akhnoor.
In another mishap, a vehicle driver was knocked to death by a truck at Shetani Nallah Banihal. The vehicle (JK02S-6430) belonged to Town Planning Department Jammu and the mishap occurred when the victim was crossing the road to attend the natures call. The deceased has been identified as Avtar Singh of Rehari Colony Jammu.
Body of an elderly person was brought to GMC Jammu for post-mortem and identification as the death occurred due to road accident at Bus Stand Jammu.
Meanwhile, sixteen persons were injured in road accidents in Kashmir.
A Sumo (JK01E-6010) on way from Handwara to Srinagar turned turtle near Jindra crossing Bomai, Sopur injuring six passengers.
Eight people were injured when a Tata LP vehicle (JK05A-7648) on way from Sopur to Hajin, skidded off the road and fell into a Nallah at Haritar More.
An Army vehicle driven by HC Sati Narayan of 18 Grenaders Camp Panzgam, Kupwara hit and Rafiqa Begum wife of Abdul Aziz Chopan of Rawatpora at Rawatpora Kupwara. The injured was shifted to SDH Kralpora from where she was referred to B&J Barzulla.
