Thus went the clarion call from the bastions of power and 'civilization'. From the upholders of project democracy, 'liberty' and human rights: Get your 'representative character' endorsed and legitimised through 'non-violent means', free election, the world (read West, in particular the United States) would acknowledge your 'democratic credentials' and would pull the 'terrorist' label off you. Hamas did heed the 'call' and fought parliamentary elections in 2006 and achieved a land-slide victory cracking a humiliating defeat on secularist Palestine Liberation Organisation Headed by Mehmood Abas. Even in PLO stronghold of West Bank, Hamas performed remarkably well wresting seats from her main rival that enjoyed Western patronage and support. The media and the election observers acknowledged the clean sweep of Hamas. What followed reflected the terribly obnoxious dual standard of the West. It stopped sending 'humanitarian aid' and resorted to all sinister designs to dislodge Hamas. The US and West believes in two different sets of 'values'. For their own interests majority will of people has to prevail at any cost. Respected and honored. For others, especially Muslims, the project democracy has to go under laboratory conditions and designed with a predetermined political fallout. This 'conditioning', Hamas refused to groom through. That 'sin' left its people at the chopping block of the butcher, called Israel. And had to face sanctions, siege and collective punishment from the "civilized" world. Emboldened the Zionist State soon imposed a crippling blockade of Gaza Strip, the main power base of Hamas. Soon Hamas leadership was targeted and many of its elected members imprisoned by Israel. A coup d'etat staged by PLO, with the support of the US and Israel, removed Hamas from power in West Bank. However, it held its ground in Gaza. As if cutting off Gaza from the rest of the world in June 2007 was not enough, Tel Aviv under the pretext of rocket fire from Hamas-controlled territory to its border region carried out a full-blown invasion on the innocent people of Gaza in 2008-09. Drugged to wreak vengeance and unleash atrocities Israeli soldiers resorted to carpet bombing. The disproportionate use of force, over which power intoxicated states have held monopoly, saw Israeli Goliath committing a brutal carnage of innocent Muslims of the region. One UN worker seeing the plight of Gazan civilian commented: 'With nowhere to flee, given that the borders are closed, Gazan civilians are the meat in the sand witch'. The UN - mandated Goldstone Commission held Zionist state guilty of war crimes. Another grave breach of international huminatarian law that Israeli committed is its blockade of Gaza and its people which amounts to collective punishment of civilians. But such inhuman acts, violating all international laws, are all connived at by the West and the US. With the result Israel gets doped.
The latest attack (31 May) on an unarmed, huminatarian 'freedom flotilla' carrying relief supplies for the besieged and blockaded Gazan civilians is reflective of the hubris-driven attitude and lawless nature of the Jewish state. The high-profile Gaza-bound aid flotilla of six ships had 700 pro-Palestine activists of 40 countries on board. These included a Nobel laureate, journalists, civil liberty activists, ex-diplomats and several parlimentarians from Turkey, Sweden, Ireland, Malasia and Palestine.
It is to be noted, and as the video footage from the lead ship Mavi Marmaro of Turkey did show, the Israeli commandos slithered down from helicopters and stormed the ship in the international waters, 65 kms from the Gaza coast. The barbarian troops went on rampage and killed as many as ten people on board, wounding scores others. After making this blood bath, The Zionist criminals in uniform kidnapped the passengers and detained them illegally with boats and cargo. As the attack triggered widespread outrage, Zionist justified the military action, in 'self-defense'. It said troops were attacked with 'light infantry' including knives and clubs. All this cooked up Goeblian lie was rejected by passengers. Al-Jazeera satellite television correspondent, who was on board, said 'the passengers did not open the fire. On the contrary, they raised a white flag of surrender on the ship ahead of the Israeli assault'.
The criminal response to what was an act of solidarity, in a pure non-violent manner, with the Palestine people is the failure of international community to make Israel lift the immoral and illegal blockade of Gaza and force it to remain within the confines of humanity. But how can it when sole 'super-power' offers her its own udder to drink milk of arrogance, for the next kill. Every brutality committed by Israel, Washington runs to shield her. Vetoes every resolution passed by Security Council that aims to make Israel accountable before the international community. See how it reacted to Israeli assault on flotilla. While world condemned the commnado action on civilians, the champion of 'civilized' world 'regretted'. While world all over saw the video-footage of the State Terrorism of Israel, America is 'trying to find out' what has happened. This is despite its claim that nothing remains hidden from her on the surface of earth. Within hours of arrest of Faisal Shazad US 'finds' him receiving 'Jehadi training' in the mountains of Waziristan. It reaches  Usama bin Ladin only hours after twin towers of WTC crumbled. But when in international waters Israeli commandos on the directions of its de fence minister Yahud Barak, attack 'freedom flotilla' and gun down a dozen of unarmed human rights activists and detain the surviving hundred in the prison of Bisul Saba, the hawkish eye of world's formidable military power does not know what is happening around!
The Secretary General of United Nations Ban Ki Moon called for an emergency session of security council. But the outcome of it is foretold. No one is going to leash the spoilt brat as it has been unleashed by its god-father. To frolic on the bloody beaches of Palestinians.
Imagine what would have happened has Pakistan Navy or Iranian Navy mistakenly attacked a similar convoy in the international waters, in which two or three people of the West would have lost their life. Certainly these two countries would have been hauled over coal by the US, the European Union and the United Nations. But here the belligerent and occupationist regime escapes punishment as it enjoys the backing of the US.
