KAS exams
We the aspirants of combined services examination (KAS) want to draw your kind attention towards the notification issued by the JKPSC. In its KAS prelims 2010 exam notification, JKPSC has reduced the upper age limit to 37 for category and 35 years for general candidates. In previous notifications it used to be 37 for general and 40 for category candidates. There is dire need to consider our plea for maintenance of age limit as per previous KAS notifications. KAS exams were never held regularly and the exam dates were never pre-scheduled. So in spite of being eligible and interested thousands of candidates could not get the opportunity. By reducing age limit JKPSC is trying to copy things from UPSC. But JKPSC should keep in mind the unique position and circumstances in our state. Because of which central government has already given an age relaxation of 5 years to candidates from Kashmir division. This generation has faced all the brunt of turmoil and trauma. So we lost most of our precious time and opportunities. We must not be victimized by denying this opportunity to us.
