Mahjoor Nagar bridge awaits repair
WE THE SRINAGARITES
In the article by Nasir Shah published on May 28, City Page, the author tried to convey and highlight some inconveniences and grievances of the residents of Kursoo-Padshahi Bagh. It was really worth appreciating. I also herein join hands with Shah.
But unfortunately this might be heartbreaking for him to hear that since I am an Advocate and resident of the same area, almost all the inconveniences and grievances faced by the residents have already been highlighted and conveyed by me to the government through various complaints. Besides, I served many a legal notices to concerned departments from my office. But till date no fruitful results have come to surface.
Still I once again second the article by Nasir Shah and humbly request the government that the residents of the area of Kursoo-Padshahi Bagh really suffer a lot.
The biggest problem is of the Mahjoor Bridge, the only connectivity between the City and the Kursoo Padshahi Bagh area, which has not been repaired since it was damaged in a fire in 1989. Apart from this, the area of Kursoo-Padshahi Bagh upto the Nowgam Bonpora lacks public transport facility. Besides, the roads aren’t macadamized and there is also a need to improve the sanitation, lighting facilities and flood protection.
