Witnesses to record statements in Wamiq Farooq case

Srinagar, June 17: A court here on Thursday set June 22 as the date for recording the statements of witnesses in the Wamiq Farooq killing case.
The passenger tax court, on the directions of Chief Judicial Magistrate Srinagar, heard the case in which the counsel for Wamiq’s family argued before the court.
He said the tear smoke canister fired by police directly hit the teenager’s head resulting in his instant death. He asserted before the court that no law and order problem or protests were going on in the area at the time of the incident.
Several persons have already deposed before the court of the CJM Srinagar wherein they told the court that ASI Abdul Khaliq along with his subordinate Muhammad Akram fired the teargas shell on the teenager.
