Hold talks with militants, separatists: ANC urges PM

Jammu, June 1: Awami National Conference today requested the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh to hold meaningful talks with separatists and militants in J&K during his upcoming Kashmir visit.
“PM needs to keep doors open for talks with militants and separatists to end uncertainty in J&K and for ensuring lasting peace in the region,” senior ANC leader, Ghulam Qadir Wani told reporters.
The party leaders S Joginder Singh Rana and A G Naseem Rana said the PM visited the state many times, “but except packages no core issues facing the state were addressed”.
