Allow laying of water pipes; Wakil Colony residents
Colony Woes
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 19: The residents of Wakil Colony, Brain Nishat have said they were yet to get water supply line in the area even though the pipes have been sanctioned by the Public Health Engineering department a year ago.
A delegation of the locals said after years of requests the PHE in 2009 sanctioned pipes for upper parts of the colony in the heels of Zaberwan hills.
“But the Roads and Building department is yet to allow the digging of the road for laying of the pipes,” the locals said.
The residents said they had to ferry water in buckets from adjacent colony.
“During summers it won’t be possible to ferry that much of water in buckets as the requirement grows for obvious reasons,” they said adding the R&B officials should pay a heed to their “genuine problem.”
The residents appealed the R&B Chief Engineer to look into the matter at an earliest.
Despite repeated attempts the R&B officials couldn’t be contacted for comment.
