Bulbulshah Shrine Urs arrangements reviewed

Srinagar, June 19: Minister for Rural Development and local MLA, Ali Muhammad Sagar Saturday took stock of the arrangements for the Urs of Bulbul Shah Sahib at Bulbul Lanker Nawakadal in Shahr-e-Khaas.
An official handout said the Minister was accompanied by District Development Commissioner, Srinagar, Mehraj Ahmad Kakroo and other senior officers.
While interacting with the people of the vicinity, Sagar assured them that the orders have already been passed to the administration to ensure that Urs goes on smoothly.
He also directed the officers to provide interrupted power supply, water and required facilities so that the devotees do not face any inconvenience.
The Minister also took stock of the renovation work being undertaken at an estimated cost of 1.80 crores and directed the concerned to speed up the pace of work on the shrine so that it is completed within shortest possible time. He also said that a comprehensive programme of road widening of the area from Nawakadal to Bulbul lankar is also on the anvil and a community centre will also be constructed for the people of the area
It is pertinent to mention here that Hazrat Syed Abdul Rehman was popularly known as Bulbul Shah was responsible for the propagation of Islam in Kashmir during early 13th century.
