Cop killed in landmine blast
Jammu, June 19: A police constable was today killed and two others were injured in a landmine blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, police said here.
Havaldar H Rai was killed and two jawans were injured when the mine exploded near Nawar Gali in Mankote area of Poonch district at around 6:30 am today.
The victims were evacuated from the spot and the injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.
Hizb-ul-Mujahideen has claimed that its militants killed six troops and injured several others in the attack.
Meanwhile, the outfit supreme commander Syed Salah-ud-Din has felicitated militants for successfully carrying out attacks on troops. He reiterated that the armed struggle would continue till complete demilitarization of Jammu Kashmir.
Meanwhile, two landmine blasts took place at zero line in Balakote sector in the same district at around 5 am hours. However, no loss of life or injury was reported.
