GK NEWS NETWORK
Sopur, June 19: Continuing its court arrest campaign against increasing human rights violations in the Valley, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) activists courted arrest in this north Kashmir district on Saturday.
Carrying placards and banners, the JKLF activists led by their senior leader Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi took out a procession from Shahabad colony this afternoon. “Nearly 18 JKLF activists including their senior leaders courted arrest near main chowk,” witnesses said.
Earlier, the senior JKLF leaders Bashir Ahmed Bhat, Noor Muhammad Kalwal and Showkat Ahmed Bakshi said, “Entire nation has to rise to the occasion and show it to the world that human rights violations won’t be tolerated.”
Pertinently, the JKLF started its court arrest programme on Friday in Srinagar. The Front chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik along with front activists and civil society members had courted arrest yesterday.
As part of this programme, the JKLF leaders would court arrest in Pulwama on Monday (June 21).
