Govt mulls new LA Complex in Jammu

Jammu: The government is working on a proposal for construction of new Legislative Complex in Jammu.
 “The project is in the pipeline and the concerned departments have been asked to expedite the process of identification of suitable land for the construction of the new building and also to furnish the other details in is regard so that the works on projects can be taken up soon”, secretary, Housing and Urban Development Suresh Kumar said in a meeting, here today.
 Earlier, Kumar chaired a high level meeting to review  various ongoing projects of NBCC and ERA here today.
 Divisional commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal, commissioner JMC Mubarakh Singh, Chief Engineer (R&B)   D.L.Sharma, director ERA O.P.Dubey and other senior officers from PDD, PWD, PHE, NBCC, ERA, BSNL from various line departments were present in the meeting.
 Divisional commissioner gave a resume of the status of ongoing projects in Jammu and discussions were held on removing of bottlenecks in the execution of these works.
 Kumar asked for strengthening the devised mechanism for improving coordination among the departments and ensuring that the projects are completed well in time. He said asked for adhering to technical aspects and norms and   for taking step in time to plug the loopholes in carrying out these projects.
 Later the commissioner secretary, along with officers conducted an on the spot inspection of various ongoing projects and under execution works of NBCC in Jammu city. He asked the concerned departments to work in close liaison to avoid un-necessary delays in the execution of the projects. He stressed on timely completion of the ongoing works, with optimal utilization of funds and resources.
