Pak HC invites Mirwaiz
Ahead of Indo-Pak talks
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 19: Ahead of the crucial Indo-Pak bilateral talks on June 24, Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has invited Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, to New Delhi for consultations.
Confirming this to Greater Kashmir, Mirwaiz Umar, however, said that because of the prevailing situation in Kashmir and the High Commissioner’s visit to his country, he could not go to New Delhi, and, instead, have briefed the High Commissioner about
Hurriyat’s standpoints.
“We have emphasized that Pakistan take up AFSPA revocation, human rights and other issues we have made known publicly,” Mirwaiz told Greater Kashmir.
Mirwaiz said that the group would meet the High Commissioner later this month and inform him about the prevailing situation in J&K and the Hurriyat’s assessment of the situation.
