Safakadal youth dies

Srinagar, June 19: Safakadal youth, Rafiq Bangroo, who was beaten allegedly by paramilitary CRPF troopers in old city last week succumbed to his injuries at Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) at Soura here on Saturday evening.
“Bangroo died at 10:55 pm,” an on duty official at SKIMS told Greater Kashmir.
“We knew his condition is critical but doctors remained tight lipped till the last moment,” victim’s cousin Burhan said.
Bangroo, according to the doctors, had sustained severe head injuries and had multiple contusions in his brain. Doctors had put him on the life support system in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit of SKIMS.
