Srinagar, June 20: The body of missing student of Islamic University of Science and Technology was recovered from Jhelum at Shadipora Sumbal on Sunday evening.
The deceased Afroza Bano was doing MA Arabic in IUST and went missing from June 11. Her family staged protests in Srinagar few days ago alleging her abduction.
Talking to Greater Kashmir deputy superintendent of police, Sumbal Tahir Saleem said it would be premature to comment on the cause of death. “The cause will be ascertained through post mortem,” he said.
Meanwhile, a boy drowned in a pond at Sialkote Kupwara while he was taking a bath with others. The deceased has been identified as Altaf Ahmad War son of Muhammad Yaseen War of Kanibehak, Kupwara at present Sialkote Kupwara. The body of the boy was fished out and handed over to family.
