Policy shift

Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s speech at the residence of Tufail Ahmed Mattoo where he called for an end to stone pelting and termed frequent Hartals as a futile exercise, is indeed a great policy shift and a most desired and welcome speech. Geelani Sahib rightly said that it is a long drawn battle and we cannot expect a quick solution to the Kashmir dispute. So it is the need of the hour to draw a long term strategy and give this struggle a new direction. Geelani sahib also rightly pointed out that there are some vested interests who join the ranks of the peaceful protesters and start pelting stones, thus endangering the life and the property of many innocent people. Let us all wake up to Geelani sahib’s call and continue our struggle in a very coordinated manner.
