Rahim Greens: Taking care of environment in its own way
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 21: It is not any NGO or any other government organization working in the field of environment. It is a business entity different from many of its peers. An arm of Rahim Group, the Rahim Greens is doing its corporate social responsibility by planting trees, participating in program for saving environment, etc. “We run this concern without any government or semi government aid. We started it before some years to save our environment,” said Abdul Hamid Bhat CEO Rahim Group. “The Rahim Greens started a plantation drive in March 2009. Under this drive we distributed 6000 saplings among different colleges including Police College Varmul on one tree on student ratio.” “This year we again started this drive in March 2010 and planted about 20000 saplings with the coordination of NSS Kashmir University (National Service Scheme) and 300 Chinar Saplings with the coordination of SENIOR CITIZEN FORM,” he said.
“This time we distributed the saplings among Police college Varmul, some government offices, local institutions, and 30 higher secondary schools, government degree colleges, universities, etc.” “Next year our program is to plant 50000 saplings,” he said. “Besides, we organized the ninth cross-country race from Nehru Park to Nishat on Environmental day 1st June 2010.
