Housing Board presses for its claims

Srinagar, June 22: Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has stressed upon the officers of various departments for early settlement of pending claims of J&K Housing Board (HB) against them to improve financial position of the Board, adding that Housing Board has limited sources of income. The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing a high level meeting convened here today to get the outstanding of J&K Housing Board cleared from various departments which include Revenue, Higher Education, Police, Army and Estates.
The Minister of State for Housing & Urban development, Nasir Aslam Wani was also present in the meeting.
The meeting discussed land compensation by Higher Education Department to Housing Board in lieu of 349 kanals developed land at housing colony, Kadipora, Islamabad, of which 259 kanals of land has been transferred to University of Kashmir for South camp.
The department of Higher Education was asked to make the payment of the outstanding dues alongwith interest or provide alternative land at any other location. The matter regarding unauthorized occupation land by army at the Housing colony was also discussed with Secretary Home.
