10 JKLF activists court arrest at Ganderbal
SHEIKH NAZIR
Ganderbal, June 23: The Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front’s court arrest programme against alleged human rights violations entered the fifth day today with its 10 more activists courting arrest at Ganderbal Chowk.
Those who courted arrest on Wednesday included Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Bashir Ahmad Rather, Noor Muhammad Kanjoo, Showkat Ahmad Dar, Habibuallah Dar, Ghulam Hassan Hafiz, Muhammad Abdullah Bhat, Muhammad Yousuf Bhat, Ghulam Hussain Sofi and Muhammad Amin Mir.
“When the Front activists left for Ganderbal, the police tried to stop us at Pandanch and other places. But we somehow managed to reach the Beehama Chowk where hundreds of people including traders and students joined our procession,” a party spokesman told Greater Kashmir .
The Imam and Khateeb of Jamia Masjid Ganderbal Peer Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din, the president of local traders’ federation Ghulam Hassan Parra and a large n umber of students also participated in the procession. Speaking on the occasion, the Front activists and leaders said the armed forces were “killing innocents” including teenagers and the rulers were dubbing martyrs as stone throwers. “Rulers are trying to justify the killings in different ways to please their masters in New Delhi,” they said.
The Front leaders and activists are scheduled to court arrest on June 24, at Budgam and on June 25, at Islamabad.
