2 Paper mills gutted

Jammu, June 23: Property worth lakhs of rupees gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at two paper mills at tehsil RS Pura Wednesday.
Police said that fire broke out, all of sudden, in a paper mill owned by Sourav Gupta at Salama Chak probably due to short circuit, in which, the building was reduced to ashes. By the time the fire fighters could control the fire it spread to and engulfed adjoining National Paper Mill owned by Kuldeep Raj Gupta.
However, with the swift action of the fire fighters the fire was controlled. The mill suffered partial damage due to the fire.
At least five fire tenders were pressed on job to control the fire throughout the night, eyewitnesses said.
