Killings embarrass Govt: Sagar
GK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, June 24: The Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Rural Development, Ali Muhammad Sagar, Thursday acknowledged that the State government was embarrassed over the recent killing of youth in Srinagar.
“You must have seen that recently three youth were killed in Srinagar. It is really sad. We were embarrassed. We called in meetings to discuss the situation,” he said addressing academics and students at the University of Kashmir.
Sagar said police lacked training to deal with law and order situation. “They don’t even know how to fire a teargas shell. They shoot it directly at the protesters. If the officers, of all ranks and departments, have proper training it can do miracles,” he said.
“We have to many times face the anger of people because of this lack of training among officers, including the police officers,” he said.
