Misleading article
This refers to Dr. Chalkoo's article. Firstly let me update his knowledge. According to a statement issued by Ministry of Health, Govt. of India, 60 percent of people in India use alternative systems of medicine. And according to a WHO report 80 percent people living in developing countries at present are using alternative systems of medicine whether it is Unani, Ayurvedic, Homeopathic or Chinese etc. They don’t opt for allopathic medicine. Secondly, how can he refer to properly qualified Unani, Ayurvedic practitioners as quacks? I think he hasn't come out of SMHS and seen in peripheries the allopathic paramedics who practice as doctors. I have even seen sweepers working in Health Department labeling themselves as doctors in villages. If they are not quacks then who is? I have even seen allopathic doctors claiming to be skin and sex specialist, ENT specialists etc where as they only do house-jobs in these subjects. They are also misleading people. How can Dr. Chalkoo call only the allopathic practitioners as the genuine doctors where as all the systems coming under AYUSH are recognized by the Govt. of India and the WHO? He should have consulted some knowledgeable people or some latest data before writing the article.
