This refers to the slogan of Autonomy and the political blackmail carried out in this guise. The very concept lacks a deeper thought or proper understanding. One may befool oneself of autonomy but the moment reality dawns, the meaning of such erroneous ventures can't be hidden anymore. Within any constitution such recesses can be granted but the truth lies deeper. They are withdrawn the moment they seem to have served the purpose or missed the desired target. This gimmickry is not going to fetch any political dividends. Children can be deceived by pranks but not grown ups. Advocating autonomy within the embankments of the constitution of India and  Pakistan, is nothing of a different kind since the hanging of Kashmir issue has started eating into the vitals of India  and  Pakistan, threatening the extinction of both. Saner  elements and cooler minds must see in advance, where this is going to land. The most logical way of neutralizing the ferocity of a river is to remove the obstructions so that the  water flows  down the right course and those that live on the peripheries escape from getting washed away. It is in the best interests of India and  Pakistan and  the whole world that the problem overstaying 60 years is resolved to the best  satisfaction of the sufferers or else those regions that somehow believe themselves not involved, shall be caught napping.
I am completely convinced by the approach adopted by Dr. G N Fai. He is right in exposing the hollowness of this slogan. There is no point talking to each other if the two countries are not serious in solving the issues of contention.
