JK Hajj, Umrah cos to train youth to expand sector

Srinagar, June 25: The J&K Association of Hajj & Umrah Companies has decided to conduct a workshop for youth interested in starting their Hajj & Umrah tour agencies.
 At a meeting here the other day the members vowed to generate a healthy competition in the sector.
 The members criticized many agencies who, according to them, make big promises to their customers but deliver little. The members appreciated the “positive approach” the state government and union ministry of external affairs for expediting the passports of the aspiring pilgrims selected through Hajj Committee.
 “Some aspiring pilgrims have booked with private tour companies and their passports are under process. We request the government to expedite the passport of these pilgrims also,” the members said.
 The meeting resolved that all members shall submit the membership form along with membership fee/annual subscription and obtain JKAHUC membership certificate. It was unanimously agreed that the next meeting shall be held in the first week of July 2010.
